Formulas & Detailed Explanation

This tool performs bidirectional conversion between mass (in grams) and amount of substance (in moles) for any chemical compound.

Users enter the molar mass (g/mol) and either the mass or the number of moles — the tool automatically calculates the missing value using the fundamental relationship:

\[ n = \frac{m}{M} \]

or equivalently:

\[ m = n \times M \]

where: - \( n \) is the amount in moles (mol) - \( m \) is the mass in grams (g) - \( M \) is the molar mass in g/mol

The tool also provides the total number of molecules using Avogadro's constant:

\[ N = n \times N_A \]

where \( N_A = 6.02214076 \times 10^{23} \) mol⁻¹.

Only one of mass or moles should be entered — the other is calculated. This is essential for stoichiometry, solution preparation, reagent weighing, and quantitative analysis in chemistry and pharmacy.
